Meet Math

Throughout the school year St. John's students in grades 5-8, along with students from Lutheran Elementary Schools across the WELS system, take short Math quizzes. Scores are tabulated and grouped, as well as individual, standings are calculated by Martin Luther College students, the sponsoring organization.

Piano Lessons
Instructor: Mrs. Janet Crabtree

 
Private piano lessons are for students in grades 2 to 8 and are taught by Mrs. Crabtree throughout the school year and even during the summer.  Student lessons fit around their daily schedules and are either taught before, during, or after school.  Students perform for two recitals during the Children's Christmas Eve Service and the Sunday service of the Spring Play.  75% of our student body in grades 2 to 8 have elected to enroll in private piano lessons.

Lessons and classes for grades 5-6 are available through Sleepy Eye Public School.  Students in grades 7-8 are offered private lessons through St. John's.

Forensics

Each November our students in grades 5-8, along with students from our area Lutheran schools, particpate in a Forensics/Public Speaking competition held at Martin Luther College. Students compete in categories of

  • Demonstration
  • Public Address
