Principal's Update
St. John’s Lutheran School

Principal’s Report
August 20, 2018

Dear Parents of St. John's Students,

Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!  We are starting school this Thursday, August 23!  We have recently experienced two major changes.  The first is that we now offer FREE tuition to any child.  Please spread the news!  The second is the assignment of our new teacher Stephanie Rockhoff.  Mrs. Rockhoff previously resided in the country of Antigua teaching in a Lutheran elementary school and is also a 2017 Martin Luther College graduate.  What a wonderful blessing he will be for our Preschool and Kindergarten students!

We currently have two community events up and running. First, our school is again forming a club soccer team for all children grades 5-8 in Sleepy Eye and the surrounding communities.  Please contact us if you know of a child who would love to play soccer this fall!  Second, we will again host a Pumpkin Palooza festival on our church and school grounds.  The date is Saturday, October 6.

The faculty at St. John’s is privileged to provide a quality Christian education to primary and grade school youth in our community.  Our theme for this school year is "The LORD has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy." - Psalm 126:3.  With this theme, we are also ready for another great start with many events and activities planned that will enhance the Christian education and academic excellence of our students.

We pray that God will continue to bless us in everything we do here at St. John’s.  We are tremendously blessed with wonderful teachers and students.  Our love for one another will continue to encourage us to hold on to Jesus and treasure his saving promise.  We are grateful to be involved in God's Word every day.  The teachers are joyful once again to tell children God's great love.  Furthermore, we are happy to teach our students this year as we reflect on our theme.
